爱一个人到底是爱他的心还是外表？

山里的早晨天亮的很晚，黑黝黝的群山还沉浸在晨曦的氤氲里。祥子已经起床穿衣，用他没有手指的左手掌摁住衣襟，右手笨拙的系着衣服扣子，又用左手同样摁住腰带卡子，右手系着腰带。
穿好衣服，祥子用手推了推正在熟睡的妻子，妻子睁开了眼睛，祥子做了一个起床的手势，妻子便马上起床准备早饭。祥子便把几十只羊赶到自己承包的山里，再去山洼的地里开始一天的劳作。
因为祥子的妻子是聋哑人，一切沟通都要靠手势。但祥子很爱妻子，妻子长得并不漂亮，且即聋又哑阐释手部白癜风容易扩散要怎么抵制，只因为无需语言沟通，妻子就能理解祥子的心思，有时一个眼神就知道祥子需要什么，要去干什么。正所谓心有灵犀一点通。
相濡以沫的妻子，已陪伴祥子走过了二十年的风风雨雨，如今儿子都已经比祥子还高出一头。看着高大的儿子，想着承包的一百多亩荒山，已经有了一年几十万的收入，祥子心里的喜悦早已赶走了劳累。他也向人们证明，一双残缺的手，照样创造着幸福。
回到二十几年前，祥子是十里八乡，出了名的俊小伙。大眼睛，瓜子脸，个子不高不矮，一脸的书生气。说媒的人踢破了门槛，可是祥子早已心有所属，心中那个她是中学同班同学英子，两人已经私定终身，祥子非她不娶，英子非祥子不嫁。山盟海誓自不必提。
年过二十，祥子托媒向英子家提亲，英子父母求之不得，乐得同意。两家选了良辰吉日，便把婚事定了下来，只等年底祥子与英子即可领证结婚。祥子对英子说我终于等到了这一天。
天有不测风云，人有旦夕祸福。就在祥子和英子订婚一月有余，在一次白癜风的汤要熬多长时间才有用铡草时，祥子带着手套的左手，顺着秸秆卷进了铡草机里，瞬间，左手的五个手指已经混在了碎草里。疼痛让祥子痛不欲生，送到医院，医生也无力回天，左手只剩下了一个孤零零的手掌。
祥子躺在病床上，首先想到了英子，他不想让英子为他受苦一辈子，今后的他恐怕自理都困难，还会给英子幸福吗？于是，祥子向英子提出了分手，英子只是默默的流泪，用无声来应付祥子。
英子的父母，最终还是没能让英子嫁给祥子，他们说：祥子已经是一个残疾人，他不会给你幸福，一定要和祥子退婚，天下胳膊腿健全的人有的是，你要是和他结婚，我们就没你这个闺女。也许是被逼无奈，也许当初的海誓山盟只是谎言，最后英子还是嫁给了一个大她五岁的人，对方给了英子父母五万的彩礼。
伊人已嫁作人妇，留给祥子的只有曾经的缠绵，和那挥之不去的心里伤痛。
擦干眼泪，日子还得照样过。一次偶然的机会，祥子承包了村里的一百多亩荒山，还有山洼里几十亩的耕地，起早贪黑，披星戴月，祥子想用劳累来忘却讲讲白斑的治疗方法那挥之不去的情殇。付出汗水，就会有回报，几年下来，荒山披绿装，贫瘠的耕地变成了良田。祥子还饲养了几十只羊，一年有几十万的收入。
这时，有人给祥子来说媒，姑娘是一个聋哑人，祥子欣然同意。祥子始终认为感情是用心来交流的，是用心来印证的，而不是用嘴来说的。水到渠成，这位聋哑姑娘也就成了祥子的妻子。没想到妻子处处都能想到祥子的前面，他们是用心在交流。
身体的残缺对于祥子已经不重要了，因为上天赐给他一个用心爱他的妻子，妻子只爱祥子的心，而不是他的外表。也许上天让他变得残缺，就是为了让他拥有一颗完美善良的心。
